Hometown Sounds is a promotional campaign between the Independent Country Music Association (ICMA) and the Country Dreams radio program, and is open to all ICMA members in good standing.

Here's how it works:
  1. Someone nominates an artist by sending a bio on the talent, along with a description of the talents hometown, and what's special about it that someone should want to visit it.
  2. If chosen, the talent and their hometown will be mentioned on an upcoming edition of the Country Dreams program.
  3. Country Dreams will also send out a press release to the artists local area media declaring them the "ICMA Hometown Sounds Talent of the Week".

Sample Show Segment

"It's the "ICMA Hometown Sounds Talent of the Week", highlighting singers and songwriters from towns across the globe. This weeks hometown is Bennington, Vermont, which was the scene of a pivotal battle in 1777, and paved the way for victory in Saratoga a few months later. Today, you may visit the 306 ft. Battle Monument, along with many great shops, museums, and plenty of New England charm.

Hailing from Bennington is Joe Schmoe, a singer/songwriter for the last 20 years who has recently appeared on stage with Garth Squid and the Octopus's. Let's listen to a song from Joe right now:
